Man Utd ‘cautious’ about Senne Lammens as Bruno Fernandes incident noted

Manchester United's summer signing Senne Lammens has been turning heads at Old Trafford since his move from Royal Antwerp. The Belgian goalkeeper made a solid start to his United tenure with a clean sheet in his debut match, a 2-0 victory over Sunderland , before the international break.
He was then trusted by boss Ruben Amorim to guard the net during their trip to Anfield last weekend. United clinched a 2-1 win against Arne Slot's team, marking their first consecutive victories under the Portuguese manager who took charge nearly a year ago.
However, insiders at Old Trafford have advised patience with the young Belgian, pointing out a few shaky moments in his initial games, according to The Sun .
Lammens had a close shave in the Sunderland match when he rushed out to intercept Black Cats' winger Bertrand Traore and collided with teammate Bruno Fernandes . Despite some contact with Traore, the officials dismissed any penalty claims.
In the Liverpool match, Lammens had a bit of a blunder when he dropped the ball in the first half. But club staff have praised his composed response to these minor setbacks.
His steady presence in goal has been a breath of fresh air after Andre Onana's unpredictable style and Altay Bayindir's mistakes. The Sun reports that the transfer fee for Lammens was reasonable enough to allow the club to bring in a more seasoned goalkeeper if needed.
United supporters have been blown away by Lammens' displays so far and have drawn comparisons to iconic goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel through songs from the stands.
"Senne did a great job [against Sunderland]," Amorim told reporters when asked about the Belgian's Premier League debut. "It is possible he is going to start the game [against Liverpool]. The first impression in this club is really important, to maintain the level is really important and difficult.
"He is not Schmeichel. He is a young guy, he showed a lot of composure and the fans like him. He needs to show himself."

Rio Ferdinand has also sung Lammens' praises and lauded the influence he's already had on United's backline.
"Talk about him... what I would say is, again, when I look back at when I played, when did I feel my best? When I didn't have to look behind me and worry about what the keeper might do or where he might be," Ferdinand said on his podcast.
"I wasn't second-guessing anything about my goalkeeper, Edwin van der Sar is a great example, a fantastic goalkeeper, a calming influence and just so reassuring seeing that behind you.
"I think what people don't grasp, how important a goalkeeper is because he sends the vibrations through the team, his good vibrations reverberate through the team, the confidence, security, assuredness, confidence, any type of wavering from that to uncertainty and not sure what he's going to do.
"Them looks over there [behind him] means that I'm not concentrating on where I am here. If I'm doing that [looking behind] often and worrying, that looks becomes a little bit longer because the picture in front of me has changed.
"A lot of that was happening, the uncertainty with defenders especially mistakes being made before, it was leading to real uncertainty in the team and you see the way the lads celebrated [with Senne Lammens], it's only his second game by the way.
"It'd almost been like he'd been there a couple of years, it was like, 'this is what we do'. It was so nice to see that togetherness and the celebrations are key for me, a marker, it can be over the top and forced but there was an aggression, a 'let's go' and I hope that's what we're going to see."
