Curtis Jones' awkward reaction to Mo Salah's Liverpool blunder spotted in new footage

The words Mohamed Salah and goal have become synonymous in his time at Anfield, so it's little wonder Liverpool star Curtis Jones was anticipating success from his team-mate. Perhaps celebrating early against Manchester United was just a little too overconfident.
With the Reds 1-0 down on a Saturday , a cross across the box avoided all bodies until it reached Salah on the right. The Egyptian superstar found himself with a moment of time in the 65th minute.
After Salah's first touch, Jones was caught on camera already wheeling away with one arm raised and ready to punch the air. But the ball stuck close to Salah's feet while United goalkeeper Senne Lammens narrowed the angle available to last season's Premier League top goalscorer.
Salah could only poke the ball wide at speed as he failed to score against Liverpool's rivals. The 33-year-old was eventually substituted in the 86th minute despite his side still chasing the game .
Jones could only put his hands on his head in disappointment as the ball flew out for a goal kick.
United earned a shock 2-1 win at Anfield , for the first time since 2016. Going into Sunday's clash, Salah had bagged 15 goals and made six assists in his previous 11 games against the Red Devils.
Salah has now not scored in more than a month. The forward's form is now becoming the subject of conversation in addition to Liverpool's four defeats in a row.
“I think after games like this it’s quite normal that people are focused on individual players," Slot said following the game. "After four-five games, it was the players we signed, now it is Mohamed Salah .

"We have more than enough chances to win the game. Mo missed a big one, others missed big ones, and we are not used to this with Mo.”
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has suggested Salah is no longer one of the first names on the teamsheet for Slot. "It’s a real headache for the coach, and we’ll see what he does. It’s interesting that he subbed him off," he said.
" Jurgen Klopp used to take him off quite often, which shows that, even in the past, Mo Salah could have a poor game and be replaced, even if he still had some energy and sharpness left."
"We’ve reached a point with Mo Salah where he shouldn’t be playing every game. It shouldn’t be a case of ‘he’s the first name on the team sheet’ anymore. He’s still part of your best XI, he plays the home matches, but maybe it’s time to think differently."
