Man Utd paying every penny of loanee's wages to help out stricken EFL club
MANCHESTER UNITED are paying every penny of Harry Amass’ wages — and even his accommodation costs — following his loan move to cash-strapped Sheffield Wednesday.
The left-back, 18, swapped Old Trafford for Hillsborough on deadline day in a bid to gain crucial minutes.

But the Owls’ dire financial situation threw the deal into jeopardy before it was completed.
However, United were more than happy to facilitate Amass’ move to Wednesday.
A club spokesperson confirmed to SunSport that they are paying his wages, believed to be £5,000-a-week, in full.
What’s more, United will take care of any performance-related bonuses.
And they are also picking up the tab for Amass’ digs in Sheffield.
The Red Devils were keen for the teen to secure the move and boost his development.
Amass saw his opportunities cut by the winter arrival of Patrick Dorgu, with Diego Leon then joining over the summer.
But the loan swap almost didn’t happen, with Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri no longer injecting his own cash into the club.
He has so far resisted calls to sell despite protests from fans.
And after the club lost eight first-team stars on free transfers, with boss Danny Rohl also quitting, supporters didn’t even dare to dream of new signings.
Wednesday’s financial situation means they cannot make any permanent transfers, with the EFL set to assess the situation this winter.
But they were able to make one more signing until January, with goalie Ethan Horvath joining on loan from Cardiff.
