Oliver Glasner has shared a positive injury update on Ismaila Sarr and Adam Wharton ahead of Crystal Palace’s Premier League clash against Sunderland.
The Eagles will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they welcome the Black Cats to Selhurst Park on Saturday.
In their last clash before the international break, Palace thumped Aston Villa 3-0 away but suffered two major injury blows with Sarr and Wharton hobbling off with hamstring and groin injuries.
Sarr has been in electric form, finding the back of the net twice in his last two Premier League games, as well as getting a goal and an assist in the Community Shield win over Liverpool.
The injury forced him to pull out of the Senegal squad and it was feared the winger would be sidelined until mid-October, but Glasner says that is not the case and he will back before the end of September.
Additionally, Wharton, who was yet again forced to miss England duty, is on track to return much quicker than expected but will miss the Sunderland clash.
‘Fortunately, all the international players came back healthy and fit so that everybody of them is available. The injured players are progressing very well,’ Glasner said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.

‘At the moment it looks like Adam Wharton, Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah are available at least against Liverpool, so in two weeks. That’s a great job from our medical department.
‘Tomorrow none of them are available. Millwall, none of them is available, maybe Adam and Eddie have a chance for West Ham.
‘We have 18 fit on-field players – and all the new signings will be in the squad tomorrow. There is a good chance that Yeremy [Pino] makes his starting debut for Crystal Palace tomorrow.
‘He just needed to rest during the international break. The first week of the international break he didn’t train. He had a small injury from his last game at Villarreal. But then he started preparing on Monday.’
Glasner also shut down reports that he had ‘threatened’ to quit as Palace manager if Marc Guehi was sold to Liverpool on deadline day.
The England star looked all set to move to Anfield in a £35million transfer and had even completed the first part of his medical and filmed a leaving video, before Palace chairman Steve Parish pulled the plug at the 11th hour.

It was reported that the manager demanded that Guehi not be sold, while the defender was said to be ‘angry’ that his move collapsed and was considering giving up the Palace captaincy – both of which Glasner has completely refuted.
‘It’s the last time I want to talk about it… the Crystal Palace fans deserve to hear about how it really was,’ the Austrian said.
‘One, I never threatened to leave the club. Never. Two, after many discussions, the chairman asked me, “do you think we can manage the season if we sell Marc?”.
‘The most important thing, it was a happy ending. It was clear, for him [Guehi], that he stuck to his contract.
‘It is credit to Marc that he never threatened to strike. He is a very honest person, that is why I was never worried about this situation.’
