Brighton vs Man City Premier League prediction, odds and betting offer

Two teams aiming to bounce back from 2-0 defeats last weekend face off on the South Coast as Manchester City visit Brighton. Despite their loss to Tottenham, City will be confident of securing three points, having won six of their last ten meetings with Brighton—including two of the last four—while Brighton have managed just two wins in that span.
Pep Guardiola’s side are in strong form overall, with only one defeat in their last 12 Premier League matches, and their most recent away game ended in a commanding 4-0 victory over Wolves. Historically, both teams tend to find the net in this fixture, with five of the last six encounters seeing both sides score. Brighton have endured a difficult start to the season, collecting just one point so far, and we expect their struggles to continue in this match.
Brighton enter this match with just one point from their opening two games. The Seagulls began the season with a 1-1 draw against Fulham, conceding a last-minute equaliser, before suffering a 2-0 defeat away at Everton last weekend. Over the summer, Brighton lost Joao Pedro to Chelsea, and his attacking replacement is Greek teenager Charalampos Kostoulas. While Kostoulas is a promising talent, he is not yet at the level required to fill Joao Pedro’s shoes, and with no other significant attacking additions, many Brighton fans may feel the team’s frontline is weaker than last season—especially as Danny Welbeck continues to age.
Although Brighton are unlikely to be dragged into a relegation fight, they don’t look particularly well positioned to improve on last season’s finish, especially with several of their rivals strengthening over the summer. Beating Manchester City on Sunday would be a major statement, but it will be a tough challenge.
Manchester City, meanwhile, have three points from their first two matches. Pep Guardiola’s side cruised to a 4-0 win over Wolves on the opening day, but were undone by a tactically disciplined Tottenham side in a 2-0 defeat last weekend. City struggled out of possession at times last season, leading to their worst campaign under Guardiola since his first year in charge, and the loss to Spurs has reignited some concerns in that area. However, there is optimism that Rodri’s full return—he has yet to start a Premier League game this season since last year’s early 2-2 draw with Arsenal—will help shore up the midfield.
With last season’s issues still lingering, back-to-back defeats could dent City’s confidence. It’s crucial for them to bounce back with a win here to put last weekend’s disappointment behind them, and given the quality in their squad, we expect them to do just that.
