Chelsea close to £2m transfer agreement as Nicolas Jackson reality perfectly clear

Chelsea are closing in on the loan signing of Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton on a season-long loan deal, with the move very much expected to be completed on transfer deadline day.

It is set to be a straight loan deal with no option to make the move permanent. Brighton did not want to include any option to buy Buonanotte, who is rated highly at the Amex Stadium. However, they are open to allowing the Argentine to leave on loan to another Premier League club.

Buonanotte spent last season on loan at Leicester City, where he featured 31 times in the Premier League during the Foxes' relegation campaign. In all competitions, Buonanotte made 35 appearances, where he scored six goals and provided three assists along the way.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson's loan move to Bayern Munich is back on . It now appears likely that the 24-year-old will move to the Allianz Arena on a season-long loan following a crazy 48 hours behind the scenes.

Chelsea had agreed a deal with Bayern for Jackson to move on an initial season-long loan deal on Saturday morning. The Blues striker was given permission by his employers to fly to Munich to finalise the move but during Chelsea's win over Fulham, Liam Delap limped off with a hamstring injury - and Enzo Maresca confirmed post-match that the Blues' No.9 would be missing for several weeks.

The club then decided to cancel Jackson's loan and informed the Senegal striker he must fly back to London, despite just landing in Munich. Jackson and his representatives were left unhappy with the circumstances and tried to salvage a deal with the German champions.
