Andres Iniesta offers advice to Barcelona sensation – “Has to keep improving”

Barcelona’s recent 3-1 win over Elche CF will serve as a relief to many, especially Lamine Yamal .

The young forward, who has struggled with fitness lately, was able to score a vital opener and looks to be back in form after a tough few weeks.

Thanks to his goal against Elche, the youngster currently has a tally of four goals and five assists in all competitions.

While it is far from ideal for a player of his calibre, Yamal has recently received some words of wisdom from Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta .

In an interaction with Movistar+ , Iniesta talked about Yamal’s rollercoaster of a season so far, with the midfield legend notably praising the winger.

“It’s a life journey. He’s only 18 years old, and he has to keep developing, learning, making mistakes, and from there he will continue to grow,” he said.

Iniesta went on to explain how Yamal is getting criticism for the smallest of things only because he is in the spotlight for his brilliance.

“ Sometimes, when a person is constantly in the spotlight, people tend to criticise any action or small detail—so I think it’s beautiful and special to see Lamine every week doing what he does on the field,” he added.

Iniesta has been an avid admirer of Yamal ever since his rapid rise to prominence and has backed the player to perform multiple times in the past.

Last weekend, Iniesta even backed Yamal for his comments against Real Madrid ahead of El Clasico , classifying them as “adding a little spice” , more than anything else.

However, with key games approaching, Yamal does need to step up for Barcelona , who are struggling with mounting injuries.
