After a stellar season in which he helped Barcelona win the LaLiga title and the Copa del Rey, the 18-year-old was handed the club's prestigious number 10 jersey, once worn by Lionel Messi.
And Yamal wasted no time in living up to the hype with a virtuoso performance in Thursday's pre-season friendly with FC Seoul.
The Spain international scored twice in the first half to give the Blaugrana a 3-2 lead in the South Korean capital.
His second goal, seen in the clip below, was a thing of absolute beauty.
