Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked manager Vitor Pereira

Wolverhampton Wanderers have decided to sack manager Vitor Pereira following a woeful start to the 2025-26 Premier League campaign, according to talkSPORT .
Wolves are at the bottom of the league table following eight defeats and two draws, and the Molineux Stadium club felt the time was right to part with Pereira.
They lost 3-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage yesterday after they were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Chelsea during the week.
Pereira signed a new three-year deal with Wolves just over a month ago, but he has been unable to inspire his team to much-needed victories and the club now have a relegation battle on their hands.
They finished 16th last term after failing to win any of their opening 10 games, and they will hope their next manager can lead them to safety as the Portuguese did following his appointment last December.
Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly the favourite to take over from Pereira after he resigned as Celtic manager on Monday.
Former Manchester United managers Erik ten Hag and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are also believed to be in the running for the Wolves job.
Pereira took charge of 38 matches, winning 14, losing 19 and drawing the other five.
Wolves return to action next Saturday with a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea , and the interim manager could be in place for the trip as the international break is next afterwards.
The two weeks in between their next two games will give the board enough time to come up with a decision as they look to appoint the perfect man to succeed Pereira.
Wolves are the first team in the history of the Premier League to go winless in their opening 10 games in back-to-back campaigns, and the next manager has work to do.
