Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for Alejandro Garnacho.

The Blues are in talks to sign Xavi Simons but they also remain interested in Garnacho, despite having already signed James Gittens this summer.

Fabrizio Romano says Garnacho has “given his total priority to Chelsea” and that the club have had talks over the Manchester United winger.

Romano says “price will be key factor” and that a deal could “take some time” because Chelsea are focused on outgoings and their move for Simons.

LAFC have reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign Heung-min Son.

Standard Sport understands that the deal could be worth as much as £20million, which would surpass the record $22m (£16.6m) fee paid for a Major League Soccer player, set by Emmanuel Latte Lath’s move to Atlanta United in February 2025.

The 33-year-old will now finalise the move, having played his final game for Spurs after a decade of service.

Son leaves with a record of 173 goals in 454 appearances, and led Spurs to Europa League glory in his final competitive game, ending the club’s 17-year trophy drought in the process.

The South Korean bid an emotional farewell to Spurs in Seoul earlier on Sunday, as the club played out a 1-1 draw with Newcastle.

Club captain Son was given a standing ovation from the stands and a guard of honour from both sets of players as he was substituted in the second half.

Tottenham have announced the signing of Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich.

The midfielder will spend the season at Spurs, who will pay the player’s full wages and hold the option of making the move permanent at the end of the season for around £21million.

Palhinha’s arrival provides a quality addition for Spurs head coach Thomas Frank in a problem position, while the cheap nature of the deal frees up funds to be spent elsewhere.

Spurs have already shown they are ready to spend big this summer, having failed to land Morgan Gibbs-White in a £60million deal, and remain interested in bolster their attacking ranks.

Liverpool are expected to bid again for Alexander Isak.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Reds have changed their minds after initially ending their interest in the Newcastle striker when their first bid, worth £110million, was rejected on Friday.

It does, however, depend on Newcastle’s stance, and their attempts to sign a replacement amid interest in Benjamin Sesko - more on that shortly - and Goncalo Ramos.

Previous reports stated that Newcastle want £150m to part with their star striker, who is desperate to leave, and Al Hilal’s interest in Darwin Nunez could boost Liverpool’s coffers.
