Tottenham are bringing in Adam Gardiner as their new chief marketing officer to follow in the footsteps of his former boss at Arsenal in the move across north London.

Vinai Venkatesham joined Spurs this year 12 months after departing as Arsenal's CEO and this week his position at Tottenham has been further strengthened by the departure of Daniel Levy after 24 years at the club. Now it has been announced that Venkatesham has dipped back into the talent pool at his former club to bring over Gardiner.

The new man spent five years as marketing director with the Gunners and prior to that had held various directorial roles at Nike over 12 years in both football and athletics.

Gardiner will arrive in the new year with the club saying he will "lead the development and execution of the club's brand, marketing, and content strategies to further deepen engagement with our fans".

"It's an incredibly exciting time for the club. Tottenham Hotspur has a rich history and strong values, and there's a huge opportunity ahead," he said. "I'm honoured to be appointed and look forward to working with a talented team to make Spurs supporters proud."

Venkatesham added: "I'm delighted that Adam will be joining us as chief marketing officer. This role is critical to our plans to strengthen our connection with our supporters, and we look forward to Adam joining our executive team in due course."
