Shearer's MOTD Blunder: Blames Subbed Kerkez for Liverpool's 4-2 Win
ALAN SHEARER made a major gaffe on the first episode of the new-look Match of the Day by blasting Milos Kerkez for Bournemouth's opening goal - despite the defender not being on the pitch.
Liverpool ran out 4-2 winners in their Prem opener against the Cherries on Friday - but Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo was superb in defeat.

The Ghanaian bagged a brace for the visitors to level the score at 2-2 before Liverpool rallied again to win the game.
Analysing Semenyo's first goal, Shearer laid a lot of the blame on former Bournemouth star and major Liverpool summer signing Kerkez.
This was despite the Serbian having been subbed off a whole FIVE MINUTES before the goal!
During his analysis of the goal, Shearer told Mark Chapman and Wayne Rooney: "There's Kerkez there, he's on the way to attack when they haven't even got possession, which means he's five or six yards out of position."
Incredibly, the MOTD graphic even tabbed up Kerkez as being the player at fault when it was actually his replacement at left-back Andy Robertson.
Shearer's berating of Kerkez didn't go unnoticed by viewers, who flocked to social media to comment on his mislaying of blame.
One wrote on X: "Just watched MOTD and Shearer blamed Kerkez for the first Bournemouth goal by saying he was out of position, he wasn't even on the pitch."
Another said: "Shearer on MOTD slagging off Kerkez for the first goal for being too attacking even though he'd already been subbed.

5 It was Andy Robertson who failed to keep Semenyo in check

"Brilliant stuff, Al."
And another said: "Shearer on Match of the Day blaming Bournemouth 's first goal on Kerkez because he was too attacking, when he had already been subbed off."
One remarked: "Thought Shearer blaming Kerkez for Bournemouth’s 1st goal was a bit harsh, seeing as he’d been subbed off 5 minutes earlier."
Another chimed in: "To sum up MOTD and Alan Shearer 's analysis, he's talking about Kerkez being out of position on Semenyo for their first.
"Kerkez had been subbed before Bournemouth scored."
There's Kerkez there, he's on the way to attack when they haven't even got possession."
Shearer's gaffe came as Match of the Day unveiled it's new look without Gary Lineker at the helm.
Chapman replaced the England legend as host, while Wayne Rooney began work in his £800,000-a-year punditry role.
Reviews of the show from fans were mixed .
After the match, Kop boss Arne Slot revealed he subbed Kerkez to stop him from getting sent off.
He said: “Milos Kerkez is a player that I think the fans like—because every duel he goes all in!
"But when you have a yellow card already and you play [Antoine] Semenyo, that’s quite a worry.”
Kerkez and his Liverpool team-mates will be back in action a week on Monday, travelling to St James' Park to take on Newcastle United.
Bournemouth , meanwhile, will take on Wolves at the Vitality Stadium next Saturday.
