Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche has fired back at the Premier League following their decision to allow Casemiro's opening goal for Manchester United to stand. Ruben Amorim's side took the lead in the 34th minute, after a dominant start at the City Ground, having been awarded a controversial corner.

Bruno Fernandes delivered the set-piece which led to Casemiro's header, but there were strong suggestions the corner should not have been given. Moments earlier, Nicola Savona appeared to deflect a dangerous cross and keep the ball in play, yet the assistant referee, positioned on the opposite side of the pitch, signalled for a corner.

The decision prompted a response from former Premier League referee Mike Dean, who didn't hold back on his views. "It's not out," he confessed on Sky Sports show Soccer Saturday. "The assistant referee can't see it but the ball is nowhere near out and it's just a guess by the assistant referee."

After the game, Dyche also made his feelings clear, telling Sky Sports: "It's not inconclusive. I've seen it back.

"That's two decisions that aren't right that have gone against us. They give corners that aren't corners. They gave one last week and one this week. It's a really poor decision. That decides a lot. We are fighting for our lives to get up the table."

Meanwhile, Forest 's captain, Morgan Gibbs-White, also vented his frustration over two points dropped following Amad's equaliser, just under ten minutes from time. "To get a point is good but the dressing room is frustrated not to get all three," he told Sky Sports. "We conceded two silly corners (from which they scored), I don't think the first one was even a corner.

"From where I was standing, I was pretty far away, I didn't know if it went out. I haven't been able to check it yet, but all the boys were saying at half-time.

"The analysts, they said the ball had never gone out, so I think it's something that needs to be looked at because it happened twice to us now in two weeks. Last week against Bournemouth it wasn't their corner - so it's something they need to look at because it's cost us two points."

Forest remain winless in their last eight league games, while United are now unbeaten in their last four following wins against Sunderland , Liverpool and Brighton .

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
