Ryan Gravenberch missed Liverpool training ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt , though Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo were both involved.

Gravenberch had been declared fully fit to play against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday as Arne Slot’s out-of-sorts champions suffered a fourth successive defeat across all competitions, despite having been substituted at half-time of the Netherlands’ win over Finland a week before with a hamstring issue.

However, the 23-year-old, who has been one the best midfielders in the top-flight so far this term, went down heavily in the second half following a challenge by Bryan Mbeumo and initially tried to continue before being replaced by Curtis Jones shortly after the hour mark.

Liverpool boss Slot confirmed following the dramatic 2-1 loss at Anfield that Gravenberch had twisted his ankle and would need to be assessed ahead of the midweek trip to Germany.

Gravenberch was not spotted during the portion of Tuesday’s session open to the media as Liverpool trained ahead of their flight to Frankfurt, making him a major doubt for the game.
