Roy Keane savages TWO Man Utd stars for howlers in Manchester Derby
Manchester United icon Roy Keane tore into Luke Shaw and Bruno Fernandes for their roles in Phil Foden 's opening strike in the Manchester Derby.
The Manchester City star nodded home midway through the first-half to give his side the lead. And Keane was far from pleased with the contributions from two United stars in particular.
Fernandes had allowed goalscorer Foden to ghost into the box undetected, while Shaw failed to deal with Jeremy Doku - the Belgian wideman producing the cross from which City scored their opener.
Speaking on Sky Sports , he said: "Very good from City, Doku and Foden...timing perfect not getting in there too early. But United's defending, the two midfielders beforehand are too square and Shaw just gives up.
"It's a nice bit of skill, but Shaw's an England international player. He's got hundreds of games under his belt, he doesn't even get his body position right.
"It's like he has thrown the towel in. We know people can run off the back of Bruno, that's been going on for years. But my goodness, even before that, you've got two midfielders - they are too square. One pass takes them out. Far too easy. Shaw just throws the towel in there."
Ex-City star Micah Richards also shared his thoughts and was far from convinced with both Shaw and Fernandes' attempts at defending.
He added: "I just want to look at Fernandes' position here, though. He's playing in that two in midfield and once the ball is over at that side, now you have got to read the danger and he just loses Foden there. Just switches off and it wasn't good enough."
Things got worse for City shortly after the break, with Erling Haaland doubling the lead. Doku was once again the man at the heart of things as he rolled the Norwegian through, while the City forward lifted a brilliant finish into the net for his fourth goal of the season.

Doku should have had a hat-trick of assists minutes later after playing Haaland through again but somehow Haaland hit the base of the post having gone around Altay Bayindir.
