Roberto Mancini tells friends he could be in contention to become the next Manchester United manager

Roberto Mancini has told friends he could be in contention to become the next Manchester United manager if Ruben Amorim is fired, according to the Sun . The Red Devils head coach has been under pressure for weeks and he may need to start winning regularly to hold on to his job. Mancini knows about the Premier League after helping Manchester City win the title in 2011-12 and is currently out of work.
The 60-year-old Italian lives in the South of France alongside Man United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and both have met at social functions a couple of times. It is unknown whether they have held any discussions about football or the situation of things at the Old Trafford club. Mancini won three Serie A titles with Inter Milan and also picked up one Turkish Cup with Galatasaray after leaving Man City. He also won the 2020 European Championship with Italy in 2021 and will fancy his chances of helping Man United return to the top of English football.
