Revealed: The brutal 10-word warning Ruben Amorim sent to Alejandro Garnacho ahead of £40m Man Utd exit

Ruben Amorim reportedly issued Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho with a harsh 10-word warning ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Argentine, 21, finally completed his move to Chelsea last week, with the two clubs agreeing a £40million deal and the player signing a seven-year contract.

Garnacho made it clear he 'only wanted Chelsea' more than a month earlier, but disagreements during negotiations meant the deal dragged on until the last week of the transfer window. Club officials at Stamford Bridge are believed to have offered the Red Devils a number of players in potential swap deals in exchange for the winger - all of whom were rejected by United officials.

Garnacho fondly remembered his time at Old Trafford upon his departure, writing: 'After an unforgettable five years, this special chapter in my life now comes to a close.

'We have created moments that will stay with me forever, and I'm very grateful for this.'

Yet the final few months of Garnacho's Man United career were far from special.

Tensions between Ruben Amorim and the academy product were rising as early as December after the coach's arrival a month earlier, when Garnacho was left out of the squad for the Manchester derby alongside Marcus Rashford.

The 21-year-old however managed to win back the trust of his manager as the season continued, making 58 appearances in all competitions - but his and Amorim's relationship ultimately came to a head as the disaster campaign reached its close.

Having been left on the bench for United's Europa League final clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Garnacho vented his frustration to reporters post-match in an interview which would seal his Old Trafford fate.

'Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know he said,' he fumed, 'The final will influence my decision.'

His comments angered Amorim, who unapologetically told the winger in front of the rest of his team-mates just days later, 'You better hope you have a good agent this summer', according to The Athletic .

Garnacho was thereby welcomed into the Carrington 'bomb squad' - consisting of Tyrell Malacia, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony - all of whom were known to have no future at the club under Amorim.

With the window now finished - and none of the exiles having played another minute for United - four of the five of them have indeed sealed moves away from Manchester.

Marcus Rashford got his 'dream' move to Barcelona, Antony sealed a Deadline Day return to Real Betis, Garnacho his Chelsea transfer and Jadon Sancho a move down the M6 to Aston Villa. Malacia is the only outcast who remains.

United meanwhile invested north of £200m on new additions to Amorim's 3-4-3 system, bringing in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo, Benjamin Sesko and more recently Senne Lammens.

The Belgian shot-stopper sealed his transfer on Monday after weeks of negotiations and a brief change of heart from United chiefs, who made a last-minute swoop for Aston Villa's Emi Martinez.

Currently placed ninth in the Premier League table, United return after the international break with the Manchester derby at the Etihad.
