Premier League Stat Leaders: Most goals, assists, saves
Premier League football returns this weekend after the first international break of the campaign.
It’s too soon to jump to conclusions after three weeks of the season, but the table and stat leaders are already beginning to shape up. We’ve looked at the Premier League stat leaders heading into gameweek four.
In search of a third Premier League Golden Boot, Erling Haaland has netted three times in three appearances to take an early lead at the top. The Norwegian’s total of 88 goals in his first 100 appearances in the Premier League is a new record, eclipsing Alan Shearer (79).
A huge 15 players have scored twice to sit behind Haaland in the standings, including Arsenal new-boy Viktor Gyokeres and Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike.
Jack Grealish is enjoying his football again after joining Everton on a season-long loan deal. Grealish has returned a league-leading four assists in just 197 minutes of action, averaging a goal created every 49.25 minutes.
The 30-year-old managed just two assists for Manchester City across the last two seasons, but has rediscovered his magic on Merseyside.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicatio has been the busiest in the league so far this season. He helped Spurs to clean sheets in wins over Burnley and Manchester City and has made 13 saves to date.
A chance-creating machine, Bruno Fernandes is a familiar face when it comes to this metric. Fernandes has created 12 chances so far this season, more than any other player. Manchester United now just need their new-look frontline to click into gear…
It’s double Dutch when it comes to aerial duels won. Virgil van Dijk and compatriot Matthijs de Ligt lead the way, with 17 aerial battles won.
On the ground, Mohammed Kudus is the leader when it comes to duel-winning. Spurs’ summer signing has made a positive start in North London, with two assists in three games. He also ranks second in the Premier League for successful take-ons.
No player has made more tackles this season than Tyrick Mitchell. Oliver Glasner’s wing-back system requires plenty of Mitchell at both ends, but he never neglects his defensive duties.
Yankuba Minteh is the only Premier League player to have recorded 10+ successful take-ons this season, with the Brighton winger top of the charts. Mohammed Kudus (9) and Estevao Willian (8) have also struck fear into opposition full-backs.
