Premier League sack race as familiar name under pressure after Arne Slot win

Pep Guardiola will have been pleased to see his side rise to second, bouncing back from last weekend's loss at Villa. Bournemouth tasted a rare defeat but Andoni Iraola continues to perform miracles with the Cherries still in the top four.

Despite the noise around Slot there was never any danger Liverpool were considering a change. His counterpart on Saturday, Unai Emery , is still the man Villa trust with their immediate future whilst newly promoted Sunderland can credit much of their stunning start to the season to manager Regis Le Bris .

His Everton side are not riding high though and drifting closer to the drop could see some unwanted attention coming his way. The same could be said for Eddie Howe , who has seen Newcastle lose four of their ten games.

It was a less than ideal summer and whilst he's overseen a steady rise there is always a feeling that the Saudi Arabian owners will want to see a progression towards their lofty ambitions.

The same can certainly be said of Farke . He took Norwich down several years ago and struggled again shortly after. He was linked with the exit door before a ball had even been kicked, but he retained enough good faith after winning the Championship to remain in his post.

Leeds were poor at Brighton and need to show more grunt on the road if they want to retain their top flight status. The recent loss at Burnley will also have only harmed Farke's status.
