Nuno Espirito Santo has become the first managerial casualty of the season after he was axed by Nottingham Forest . His departure owing more to a breakdown in relationship with the owner rather than on pitch results.

Nuno's decision to speak publicly about Evangelos Marinakis ultimately cost him despite his impressive exploits at the City Ground. Several other men will be feeling the heat in the midst of the first international break of the season, which follows three Premier League games.

It gives bosses a chance to take stock with some struggles already foreseen. Others, the likes of Manchester City , were not on the horizon. Rarely will a board panic this early and any exits are often because of internal politics, Nottingham Forest a case in point.

It is more likely that in a month changes may begin to be discussed, but poor results now will give a chairman something to think about going forward. Nuno will also be a man looking for a job and has shown how he can outperform resources, which could be senior figures on notice.

We're still so early in the campaign but managers know they do not have long shelf lives in this game and will be aware of how the pressure gauge is building - or not.

We cast our eye over the 19 managers still in a job and discuss how safe their jobs are following their exploits to begin the season and whether they have enough credit in the bank to consider themselves safe.

Arne Slot is a man eyeing back-to-back titles and, after his summer of transfer activity, may well pull it off. His Liverpool team have the only perfect record left in the Premier League and whilst he may not have the charisma of Jurgen Klopp , he could well be held in the same regard soon enough.

His appointment was an inspired choice. He downed Mikel Arteta last time out but the Arsenal board are steadfast in their belief in the Spaniard, hence the investment they've made in his squad. And whilst he's lost two out of three, Pep Guardiola is an unsackable manager.

He will leave Manchester City on his own terms, and ultimately only has another two years on his deal with his legacy in English football already assured.

Several other individuals are secure in their jobs, but the history of some of their hierarchies means they can never totally be calm. Enzo Maresca is building nicely at Chelsea with their decision to pluck him out of the Championship currently paying off.

Thomas Frank moved across London and has largely impressed at Tottenham . He was ultimately Daniel Levy's appointment and the change there means there could be issues, but that seems very unlikely right now. Regis Le Bris at Sunderland has begun their survival bid brilliantly and, bar a mental collapse, looks a safe pair of hands.

David Moyes and Everton have always seemed a good fit and, as they embark on their new era, having the Scot in place seems right. He's also got the players he wants which will certainly help and that has been backed up by the results.

Aston Villa are yet to score a goal this season and don't seem to have the magic of recent years yet, but Unai Emery has led them to such heights that he is almost untouchable at Villa Park. Never say never though. Brighton's Fabian Hurzeler is also a man who has the full backing of the men above him with the Seagulls a very measured outfit.

Eddie Howe is preparing for his second tilt at the Champions League but has a fresh challenge on his hands amid the post-Alexander Isak era. The Newcastle boss has continued to overcome challenges though and looks the perfect fit for right now at St James' Park.

Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola are two men who yield huge power at their clubs. Both have allowed them to punch above their weight and, despite Bournemouth losing a chunk of their best players, the Spanish manager has still enjoyed a positive start to the year. Glasner certainly had to fight to keep skipper Marc Guehi at Selhurst Park, but has already masterminded some stellar results - beating Liverpool and Aston Villa - ahead of a European campaign.

The two other promoted sides, Leeds and Burnley , have stuck with their managers. Getting your side into the top flight counts for something, but neither men have glowing records in the Premier League. Reports claimed Daniel Farke 's job was under pressure in the summer, but he remains in his post. He and Scott Parker both have a win to their name which will help in the short-term.

Keith Andrews is the new man at Brentford. He's just lost several of his leading lights which has made the Bees some people's tip for the drop, but he'll have the backing of those above him until they have to potentially consider their top flight status.

Marco Silva has been linked with jobs away from Fulham but has underlined his commitment to the cause in west London. It has not been the ideal start to the season, which follows a difficult window, but the way he's established the Cottagers in the Premier League will give him enough credit for now.

Manchester United never seem far from a crisis. Ruben Amorim had to deal with the fallout from the Carabao Cup loss to Grimsby. If it weren't for Ineos being determined to show they can get a managerial appointment right he might already be gone. To be honest his grace period cannot last much longer and he needs results, even if Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be loathed to axe him.

Graham Potter is one man who doesn't have that luxury at West Ham . The win over Nottingham Forest has certainly bought him time, but the manner of some of their early defeats has piled on the pressure. The next few weeks will be crucial if the ex-Chelsea boss wants to rebuild his reputation.

Another man feeling the heat will be Vitor Pereira. Any manager sat bottom without a point will see fingers pointed at him and Wolves know they will be among those fighting for survival.
