Unai Emery has confirmed that Ollie Watkins is expected to be fit to face Tottenham on Sunday. The striker picked up a leg injury during England's victory over Wales last week and was substituted at half-time.

Watkins had doubled England's lead in the 11th minute, shortly after Villa teammate Morgan Rogers had opened the scoring at Wembley, marking Watkins' first goal in international football.

Emi Buendia and Jadon Sancho are also expected to feature for Villa this weekend, while Tyrone Mings will face a late fitness test.

When asked about Watkins, Emery said: "Tomorrow we will train again, normally he will be ready for Sunday."

Then, on Buendia and Sancho, Emery confirmed: "Both have trained normally and will be available for Sunday in case they train well tomorrow."

Speaking about Mings' condition, the Villa boss said: "He is getting better. He trained this week individually. Tomorrow, we will see how he is. The idea is to train with the team and after that we will decide."

Youri Tielemans could be sidelined for another four weeks with a calf injury after he suffered a setback in his recovery earlier this month.

Villa have won four of their last six Premier League games against Tottenham, which is as many as their previous 29 beforehand.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has never beaten Emery's Villa side in the Premier League in five attempts. It's the most he's faced an opposing manager in the competition without ever winning.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
