Official: Real Madrid captain undergoes successful surgery following knee injury
Only a couple of days after he made his comeback from an injury, Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal is set to be sidelined for three more months with a fresh knee issue .
Real Madrid announced overnight that the 33-year-old veteran right-back had been diagnosed with ‘the presence of a joint free body in his right knee’ and needed to undergo arthroscopic surgery to address it.
Now, providing an update, Los Blancos have announced that the Spanish international has successfully undergone surgery.

“Our captain, Dani Carvajal , underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee today. The operation was performed by Dr. Manuel Leyes under the supervision of Real Madrid’s Medical Services,” the statement read.
“Carvajal will begin recovery work in the coming days.”
As mentioned earlier, Carvajal is likely to be out for close to three months, meaning he will not play again in 2025 and fans will have to wait until the new year to see him back in action.
In his absence, Trent Alexander-Arnold, who also recently returned from an injury, will become the automatic starter at right-back and will need to step up in a big way after a rather quiet start at Real Madrid since his summer arrival.
