But Saturday's battle against Wealdstone was also ended before the final whistle due to a horror injury sustained by Daniel Nkrumah.
The Wealdstone star went down in the 85th minute with his side 2-1 down after a collision in Scunthorpe's box.
At the 90th minute, Nkrumah was still down receiving treatment as the game received 11 minutes of added time.
But it took a further 13 minutes before the ace was finally stretchered off the field to rapturous applause.
And the game never restarted following Nkrumah's setback, with Wealdstone confirmed 20 minutes after his exit that the match had been abandoned.
They tweeted: "We can confirm that today’s fixture between Wealdstone and Scunthorpe United has been abandoned following a lengthy suspension whilst Daniel Nkrumah received medical treatment."
Wealdstone then provided an update on the star after he was taken to hospital.
It read: "Daniel Nkrumah is now in hospital and stable.
"Thank you to the medical staff at Scunthorpe United and the paramedics for their support."
For Scunthorpe, it was the second abandoned match they’ve had to face in the past week.
On Tuesday, their game against Eastleigh was called off in stoppage time following an injury to opposition player Archie Harris.
He was rushed to hospital after a clash of heads with Jean Belehouan and was discharged two days ago.
Belehouan also came off injured but responded positively to tests in the dressing room and was not taken to hospital.
