Manchester United have spent all week preparing for their Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off). The Red Devils are riding high on confidence after last weekend's thrilling 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Liverpool .

In beating the champions, they managed back-to-back Premier League wins under the helm of Ruben Amorim for the first time since his appointment last year. United will be aiming to secure a hat-trick of victories this weekend.

That could propel them further up the table from their current ninth position, just one point ahead of Brighton . However, Amorim faces a few fitness concerns ahead of the match.

Hero of the Anfield showdown, centre-back Harry Maguire , who netted the winning goal with just six minutes left on the clock, is a doubt for the Brighton game due to an injury. Mason Mount , who has been in the starting line-up for the last two games, is also nursing a knock.

"The squad is fine," Amorim said during his pre-match press conference. "We have some doubts, we had some issues in the week with Harry Maguire and Mason Mount. Knocks, nothing serious, and we will see tomorrow."

Lisandro Martinez , however, is definitely ruled out. The Argentine is making progress in his recovery from an ACL injury and has returned to training, but is not yet ready for match action.

"Licha is out," confirmed Amorim. "He trained really well, he was on the next pitch, and I was watching. He's training really well, the knee is looking well, but I don't want to say a specific week [for his return] and then it depends on Licha, whether he wins the spot."

It's not just United facing fitness concerns ahead of the fixture. Brighton could be without as many as six players for the clash.

Long-term casualties Adam Webster and Jack Hinshelwood remain unavailable. Both are still recovering from ligament injuries.

Solly March is also due to be sidelined, with a comeback set for later this year. However, there is more encouraging news for Brighton regarding other squad members.

Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed that Brajan Gruda, Joel Veltman and Kaoru Mitoma are all nearing comebacks. "They're all close to the team, so maybe one or two of them might be available for tomorrow," he said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.

"They don't have big issues; they don't have anything serious. I can't say that they will all be available; I also can't say that they won't be available. We have to see how it goes today, and then we have to make a decision."

The Brighton manager also delivered encouraging updates on midfielder Diego Gomez, who came off during Brighton's 2-1 victory over Newcastle United last weekend. He was seen in training before Saturday's match, to which Hurzeler responded: "I think he will also be spotted tomorrow at Old Trafford! He will be available to start."
