In the 110th edition of the U.S. Open Cup Final, Nashville made history by dispatching Austin away from home to secure the club's first ever major trophy.

It was a breathless affair at Q2 Stadium, with both teams looking to make history for their fans.

To nobody's surprise, former league MVP Hany Mukhtar opened the scoring for the visitors from Tennessee, dispatching with aplomb from close-range to beat Brad Stuver.

The Austin crowd dragged their boys back into the match however, as Myrto Uzuni made up for an early penalty miss by darting in on the breaking and leveling the score before the halftime whistle.

His finish sent Q2 into a frenzy that carried on through the halftime break.

But Nashville went into another gear in the second-half, taking the lead on the hour mark thanks to a Sam Surridge spot-kick. The Englishman has been prolific all season for Nashville and was sure to make his mark in the final.

A late push nearly saw Austin scrap their way to a dramatic equalizer but Nashville held strong in the face of the pressure to pull off a famous victory in their short club history.
