Napoli plot another transfer raid on Manchester United
Napoli are planning another loan raid on Manchester United with the Italian champions considering a loan approach for Kobbie Mainoo .
Mainoo has struggled to win favour with Ruben Amorim and is yet to start a Premier League game this season.
The midfielder has totalled just 113 minutes of Premier League football across five substitute appearances. Mainoo informed Manchester United of his desire for a loan exit in the summer. However, he saw a departure blocked by the board.
The 20-year-old is keen to secure regular minutes as he looks to aid his development and regain his place in the England squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Napoli are keen on a temporary deal, following their huge success when recruiting from Manchester United in recent transfer windows. Scott McTominay was named Serie A’s Most Valuable Player during the club’s title success last season, following his £25m move to the club from Old Trafford in 2024.
Rasmus Hojlund has also shone since his loan this summer, scoring four times in six appearances. Napoli have an obligation to sign the Denmark international for a fee of around £38m.
Mainoo is now understood to be on the club’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.
