Matheus Cunha says he will be ‘back soon’ after being forced off in Manchester United ’s win against Burnley with a hamstring injury.

Cunha was replaced after 31 minutes at Old Trafford last Saturday as Ruben Amorim ’s side needed an injury-time penalty from Bruno Fernandes to seal a 3-2 victory over Burnley.

The Brazilian forward was seen walking without a limp outside Old Trafford after the game which eased concerns from United supporters.

‘It was hard to lose Cunha and Mason Mount , because Mason Mount played 30 minutes with an injury,’ said Amorim.

‘I’m concerned about that, because they are so important for us. We will see.’

In his latest message to United supporters on Thursday, Cunha also suggested that he will make a quick return.

‘What an incredible environment, it’s great to be here,’ Cunha wrote on Instagram .

‘I’ll be back soon, always with joy and gratitude. Thanks for all the messages.’

Cunha was set to be part of Brazil’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia before withdrawing due to his hamstring injury.

United, meanwhile, will play Manchester City in their next Premier League fixture after the international break on September 14.
