Marcus Rashford insists he is desperate to stay at Barcelona beyond the loan deal from Manchester United

Marcus Rashford insisted he is desperate to stay at Barcelona beyond his one-year loan deal from Manchester United .

The 27-year-old joined the Catalan club on loan in the summer after falling out of favour with United boss Ruben Amorim.

Rashford has been a key player for Hansi Flick’s side this campaign, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 12 appearances.

Barcelona have the option to make the move permanent for €30 million at the end of the season.

Speaking to ESPN , he insisted he wants to stay at the Spanish club beyond the 2025-26 season.

“Oh yeah, for sure,” he said.

“I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player is an honour.”

Rashford rose through the ranks at United and went on to make 426 senior appearances for the club.

He recorded 138 goals and provided 78 assists for the Red Devils.

Reaching such figures at a club as massive as United is an extraordinary feat, but the forward never truly fulfilled his world-class potential.

Rashford struggled to perform in the last two seasons for the Manchester titans, and he was sent out on loan to Aston Villa for the second-half of the 2024-25 campaign.

The England international scored four goals in 17 appearances for the Midlands side.

He was allowed to join Barcelona this summer, where he has regained his previous form, netting four goals in three Champions League games.

Rashford’s contract at Old Trafford will not expire until 2028, but it is unlikely he will ever play for United again.
