Manchester United vs Brighton – Match Preview and Team News
Manchester United host Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday evening, aiming to secure a third consecutive Premier League victory for the first time under Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils appear to be building momentum after impressive wins over Sunderland and Liverpool. However, they face a Brighton side that has remarkably won on their last three visits to Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim faces late fitness checks on match-winner Harry Maguire and midfielder Mason Mount , though both are expected to be available despite minor knocks. Noussair Mazraoui is also back in contention. Nevertheless, Lisandro Martínez remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury.
Fabian Hürzeler has received a boost with midfielder Diego Gomez declared fit to start. Furthermore, Brajan Gruda, Kaoru Mitoma, and Joël Veltman are all close to returning and could feature. The Seagulls will, however, definitely be without Jack Hinshelwood, Solly March, and Adam Webster.
United have finally found some consistency, winning back-to-back league games for the first time under Amorim. Their victory at Anfield last time out was particularly impressive. Consequently, they are now aiming for a fourth consecutive home league win, a feat they last achieved in August 2023 – a run which was ended by Brighton.
The Seagulls are in solid form, having lost just one of their last eight matches in all competitions. Their 2-1 win over Newcastle last weekend lifted them to 10th. Moreover, their recent record against United is exceptional, winning six of the last seven league meetings, including the last three at Old Trafford.
Man Utd predicted XI: Lammens; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Šeško.
Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, De Cuyper; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Rutter, Gómez; Welbeck.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League , with coverage from 5:00 pm BST.
