Man Utd's £61m Shock Bid for Barca Star Lopez

MANCHESTER UNITED have submitted a bid to sign Barcelona star Fermin Lopez, according to reports.

Reports in Spain claim the Red Devils have made an offer of £61million for the highly rated youngster.

Lopez's entourage have revealed several clubs are interested in signing him, including from Europe and Saudi Arabia.

United have been interested in the midfielder for some time and raised the idea of signing him in negotiations which saw Marcus Rashford join Barcelona on loan, report Sport .

Now the outlet claims United have submitted a bid worth £61m.

And they are reportedly planning to lure him to Old Trafford by doubling his wages.

However they expect it could be difficult to persuade Lopez to leave Barcelona given he has previously rejected Prem clubs.

But Barcelona are open to selling him and could sell for around £61m.

Reports earlier this summer claim the Spanish giants hit back a bid worth £50m.

Ruben Amorim is thought to be a big of the Spaniard, while he also wants to sign Benjamin Sesko to bolster his attack.

The Red Devils made their first direct approach for the £70m Slovenian on Wednesday , signalling their ability to take their summer spending over the £200m mark while Toon bosses are understood to have reached agreement on personal terms.

Newcastle also made the first move - launching a bid worth £70million for Sesko - who now has two options to choose from.
