Joshua Zirkzee is ‘deeply frustrated’ at Manchester United and is desperate to leave in the January transfer window, according to reports.
United refused to let Zirkzee go this summer despite significant interest from Napoli and Juventus in Italy and PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Zirkzee has not made a single start for United this season, with the 24-year-old forward limited to just four appearances from the bench.
The Dutchman’s frustration at Old Trafford has ‘escalated significantly’ in the last few weeks, the Daily Mail reported on Tuesday.
It is believed that Zirkzee is seeking an exit in January to boost his chances of earning a spot in the Netherlands’ 2026 World Cup squad.
Zirkzee was left out of Ronald Koeman’s squad for the qualifiers against Malta and Finland on Thursday and Sunday respectively.
He has largely flopped at United since his £36.5m arrival from Bologna in July 2024, registering just seven goals across 53 games to date.

Former United star Lee Sharpe urged Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim to give Zirkzee more game time last month.
‘I think Zirkzee should be getting games,’ Sharpe told AceOdds.com . ‘I’m a big fan of Zirkzee.
‘I think he should play instead of Amad [Diallo] in the No.10 role. Or even play instead of [Benjamin] Sesko.’

TEAMtalk have reported that West Ham and Everton are watching Zirkzee’s situation closely ahead of the January transfer window.
Former United defender Paul Parker is adamant that Zirkzee will be ‘moved on’ because he doesn’t suit Amorim’s style of play.
‘I don’t think he can play in a dynamic team and United are heading towards being a dynamic team,’ Parker told BonusCodeBets.co.uk .
‘Zirkzee was an impact buy. Football needs to get back to managers bringing in players they want. We just see moments and think it will work.
‘It takes a certain type of player to play for Manchester United. We’re seeing more and more players who don’t get it. Zirkee will get moved on.’
Earlier this year, Amorim challenged Zirkzee to improve, urging him to be ‘more selfish’ as a striker.
