Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Ruben Amorim has adapted his football to cater for Benjamin Sesko's strengths. United snapped up Sesko from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for a fee that could reach £73.7million.
The Red Devils pipped Newcastle United to Sesko's signature, with Arsenal also keen on the striker before choosing to land Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting instead. The Slovenian forward suffered a sluggish beginning to his Old Trafford career, failing to find the net in his opening six outings.
However, Sesko, 22, went on to open his account against Brentford in September , before netting in the 2-0 home victory over Sunderland . He then registered his maiden assist for United during Saturday's thrilling 4-2 triumph over Brighton and Hove Albion.
That victory against Fabian Hurzeler's side marked a third consecutive win for the Red Devils, who now occupy a European qualification spot after nine matches. Sesko's Premier League arrival came at the cost of Rasmus Hojlund, who endured difficulties at United before departing to join Napoli shortly afterwards.
Now, Saha, who netted 42 times in a Red Devils jersey, has voiced his opinion on how the club have altered their strategy with some of their stars following previous disappointments. Speaking to Betvictor , the Frenchman said: "What I really like is that we're not making the same mistake we've made with Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho.
"They were starting games with a certain status and had an immense responsibility to score. They need to be introduced game by game, understanding the principles, and if they don't perform, they'll be benched.
"Some of these moments are difficult to manage, while others are good. This will also apply to other players like Kobbie Mainoo or Mason Mount .

"No player deserves anything, and Benjamin Sesko is starting to understand that he will have to fight for his place. Every opportunity he gets off the bench, he has to perform as he did on the weekend.
"I think he did really well, he didn't score, but he did his job confidence-wise. He was tracking back, and one day it will be rewarded.
"This is the type of introduction that hasn't been done for maybe the last seven to eight years, which was a big mistake."

Sesko's upcoming opportunity to find the net will come in Saturday's encounter at Nottingham Forest (3pm kick-off). Success at the City Ground would mark United's fourth straight triumph - something they haven't accomplished since February 2024.
They ended the weekend in sixth position, level on points with fifth placed rivals Manchester City . United are also only one point behind fourth placed Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur in third.
The Red Devils have not finished in the top four since the 2022-23 season, when Erik ten Hag steered them to third in his debut campaign.
