Man City vs Man United Premier League prediction, odds and betting offer

Manchester City welcomes Manchester United to the Etihad this weekend for the highly anticipated Manchester derby. Recent meetings between these two sides have been entertaining affairs, with both teams scoring in four of the last five encounters and over 2.5 goals being recorded in five of the last six. City have been formidable at home, winning five of their last six league matches at the Etihad, while United have struggled on their travels, failing to win any of their last six away league games and losing four of those.
Erling Haaland enters the derby in red-hot form, having scored five goals in a single game for Norway during the international break, and adding three goals in as many appearances for City so far this season. The Sky Blues, however, have made an uncharacteristically shaky start to their campaign, with one win and two defeats from their opening three matches. After a resounding 4-0 victory at Wolves, City suffered back-to-back losses against Tottenham (0-2) and Brighton (1-2), results that have increased the pressure on Pep Guardiola and his squad.
This is the first time under Guardiola that City have lost two of their opening three league games, and coming off a season without silverware in 2024-25, there is mounting pressure on the Catalan manager, who could be entering his final season at the club. Nevertheless, City will take confidence from United’s own struggles and will be optimistic about securing all three points in front of their home fans.
Guardiola will be hopeful that Phil Foden can recover from a foot injury in time for the derby, but Omar Marmoush, Savinho, Rayan Cherki, Josko Gvardiol, and Mateo Kovacic are all expected to miss out, while John Stones faces a late fitness test.
Manchester United, meanwhile, come into this fixture with a record of one win, one draw, and one loss from their first three games. New manager Ruben Amorim is already under significant pressure, as his side have exhibited many of the same weaknesses that contributed to last season’s disappointing league finish. United’s campaign began with a 0-1 defeat to Arsenal, followed by a 1-1 draw with Fulham and a narrow 3-2 win over Burnley before the international break. While there have been occasional signs of improvement, United remain vulnerable, and Amorim is still searching for the right formula with his team selections and tactics.
For this match, United will be without new signing Matheus Cunha, a significant blow to their attacking options, while Mason Mount remains a doubt and could also miss out. United will need several players who have yet to make a real impact to step up if they are to come away with a result.
All signs point to another difficult afternoon for United, and we expect City to take advantage of their rivals’ struggles and add further pressure on Amorim with a home victory.
