Arne Slot's revamped Liverpool squad might still be finding their rhythm on the field, but it's a contrasting tale for one of their former Premier League stars who departed Anfield during the summer. Luis Diaz brought his Liverpool journey to a close back in July when he sealed a £65.5million move to Bayern Munich .

The Colombian has made a blistering start to life in the Bundesliga, bagging four goals and providing three assists across his opening eight appearances for the German giants. This tally includes the decisive strike on his debut that helped Bayern claim the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup, plus a goal and two assists during his league bow against RB Leipzig.

Operating in a fearsome attacking quartet alongside Harry Kane , Michael Olise and Serge Gnabry, the foursome have already plundered an impressive 26 goals between them in just eight matches. With Bayern maintaining a perfect record this campaign, finding the net 30 times and only managing fewer than three goals on a single occasion, it's evident that both Diaz and Vincent Kompany's team are soaring.

Diaz has now reflected on his promising beginning at Bayern, praising his teammates for making his transition seamless both during matches and away from the spotlight.

"The team makes it very easy for me on the pitch," he told BILD, as quoted by Sport Witness. "We have a lot of great players, especially up front, who don't just think about scoring goals themselves, but also help their teammates.

"That gives me a lot of security and confidence. It's incredible to play attacking games with them. They have so much quality! I will give my all to score a lot of goals and assists. How many I get is in God's hands. But above all, I want to win every competition with the team.

"I'm really very, very happy and I'm feeling better and more comfortable all the time. The whole team is helping me. The dressing room is cohesive, pleasantly calm, and down-to-earth. It's very family-like.

"That, and the trust the coach immediately gave me, were very important for my great start here in Munich."

Admittedly, when written down, such remarks about 'players upfront who don't just think about scoring goals themselves', could be interpreted as a potential swipe at his former Liverpool teammates.

However, it's worth highlighting that Diaz netted a Reds career-high 17 goals in his final campaign with the club, whilst the likes of Mohamed Salah managed an impressive 23 assists - with five of those setting up the Colombian.

Diaz may have departed England this summer, yet that hasn't prevented him from continuing to study English following his switch to Bayern as he seeks to master his language abilities - having never conducted an interview with the English press during his stint at Anfield.

"Not many people in our team speak Spanish, but Serge Gnabry and Joshua Kimmich can and have been very supportive," he admitted. "I'm currently concentrating more on perfecting my English so I can communicate even better as quickly as possible."

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
