Liverpool star ruled OUT of Man Utd fixture despite Ryan Gravenberch boost

Liverpool will be without goalkeeper Alisson for Sunday's showdown with Manchester United at Anfield.

The Brazilian international missed the loss at Chelsea before the international break having come off injured during the Champions League defeat to Galatasaray. He subsequently pulled out of Brazil duty. Now he will miss the visit of United, with Giorgi Mamardashvili set to deputise between the sticks. Alisson won't be back for the Champions League clash in midweek with Eintracht Frankfurt, nor next weekend's trip to Brentford.

"Alisson is not training with us, so he's out," admits Arne Slot . "Like I always say, it's so difficult to say [how long he will be out], because the end phase of rehab can always give you positives and negatives. But he will not play this weekend, and also not next week."

Ryan Gravenberch is back to full fitness after a hamstring problem, Slot confirmed, and is in line to feature this weekend. So too is Ibrahima Konate, the French centre-back set to train with his colleagues on Friday.

Gravenberch played 45 minutes in the Netherlands' 4-0 win over Finland on Sunday before being withdrawn as a precaution at half-time. Konate was sent back from France duty with a muscle problem, discovered after the loss at Stamford Bridge.

"Ryan is completely fit," Slot said. "Although we still have to train twice, but if you ask me now he is completely fit.

"We are in a good place with the Dutch national team. If Ronald Koeman can make a decision to either play Tijani Reijnders or Ryan Gravenberch.

"So he played them both for 45 minutes. Ibou (Konate) has come back to us and has started his sessions again and is expected to train with us today."
