Kylian Mbappe has tipped Liverpool to miss out on the Premier League title despite the club’s stunning transfer spree this summer.
Liverpool’s British record deal for Alexander Isak took the club’s spending beyond £400m for the summer.
As well as paying £125m on Newcastle United striker Isak, Liverpool also spent £200m on marquee signings Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
An incredible transfer window has only strengthened Liverpool’s claim to be the favourites to win the Premier League but Mbappe believes the trophy will be heading elsewhere.
‘Of course, Liverpool has to be mentioned first and foremost, as they’re determined to win one title after another,’ the Real Madrid superstar told Bild .
‘But I also have high hopes for Arsenal, because the core of the team has known each other for a long time, and that’s a crucial factor in football.
‘And Manchester City is always at the forefront anyway, with Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland.’

Pressed for his Premier League title prediction, Mbappe added: ‘That’s tough. Maybe Arsenal, maybe it will be their year. It would certainly be easier to say Man City or Liverpool.’
Big-spending Liverpool are the only team in the Premier League to boast a perfect record after three games.
Arne Slot’s side beat Bournemouth in a six-goal thriller on the opening day before scoring a dramatic injury-time winner to down Newcastle .

Dominik Szoboszlai rifled home a stunning free-kick to earn Liverpool a narrow victory over title rivals Arsenal before the international break .
Liverpool are two points clear at the top of the Premier League, with Chelsea currently second and Arsenal – runners-up for the past two seasons – third.
Thomas Frank’s Tottenham are fourth while the dominant team in this era, Man City, are down in 13th after losing two of their first three games .
Paul Merson backed Arsenal to win the Premier League before the season started but has changed his mind after Isak’s move to Liverpool .
Asked if Liverpool were now favourites to land the title, Merson told Sky Sports : ‘Yeah, I would have thought so after yesterday as well [Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Arsenal].
‘See, I always weigh it up with the league [after some time]. I thought advantage Arsenal when they went and won at Man United, then all of a sudden they [Liverpool] go and beat Newcastle and they beat Arsenal.

‘For me, they haven’t even got out of second gear yet and they haven’t played particularly well yet.
‘Watching the game, I watched and I’m like, I’ve never seen an Arsenal team so comfortable at Anfield – so comfortable and yet they still lost.
‘What Liverpool are doing as well is they’re buying players to come straight into the team and these are top players.’
Mbappe will hope to fire Real Madrid to the La Liga title this season after they finished four points behind Barcelona last term.
Xavi Alonso’s side have enjoyed a bright start to the new campaign, winning three games in a row, and will also have aspirations of winning another Champions League.
Mbappe is naturally backing Real Madrid to conquer Europe and has backed the new Champions League format which was introduced last season.
‘I always say Real Madrid,’ Mbappe said. ‘But there are many good teams in Europe, a lot.
‘We saw that last year was great with the new Champions League format. This year will be even better. It will be interesting to see who prevails in the end.’
