Leeds owners to hold full shareholders meeting before West Ham - with 3 key issues on agenda

Leeds United shareholders and investors will meet on Friday to discuss the club's progress and future plans. The meeting, which will see representatives of club owners San Fransisco 49ers travel from the United States, will take place at Elland Road ahead of the visit of West Ham .

American businessman and Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe, who also runs the 49ers enterprise, will attend. Although the likes of celebrity investors Russell Crowe, Michael Phelps and Will Ferrell will not be there.

It will be the first time the club's major shareholders and investors have been together since last season. Those invited will be given a tour of the stadium and club's Thorp Arch training facilities, before watching the game.

Subjects on the agenda are likely to include:

Leeds announced plans in July to expand the capacity to 53,000. The proposal to increase the stadium's capacity by more than 15,000 would make it the seventh biggest ground in English football.

Proposals for the ground include updating the West and North Stands, as well as improvements to the general admission and hospitality facilities. If approved, work is planned to start in 2026.

49ers Enterprises took full ownership of Leeds in 2023. The company owned a 44 per cent stake in Leeds, and bought the remaining 56 per cent stake from Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani in a deal costing around £170m.

49ers Enterprises is currently valued at close to £7billion, making it one of the richest franchises in sport.
