Ex-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp's reaction to having a fake Manchester United contract put in front of him said it all. United could be in search of a new head coach should Ruben Amorim's poor run continue.
Amorim's side have failed to move on from a sub-par end to last season , losing three of their opening seven Premier League fixtures. Money was spent in the summer and pressure is mounting on the manager .
One name that has loosely cropped up as a potential replacement should Amorim be sacked is former Liverpool manager Klopp. The idea of Klopp signing for the Reds' bitter rivals is unfathomable, but we were given a small glimpse into how he might react to a United offer back in 2024.
Liverpool had just exited the FA Cup at the hands of United 4-3 in April of last year in what was Klopp's final season in charge before he made way for Arne Slot .
The loss was a crushing one as young Amad Diallo sealed Erik ten Hag's team's win in the dying seconds . Upon entering the press room, ready to speak to the media in an understandably disgruntled headspace, a bizarre piece of paperwork appeared in front of Klopp.
As Klopp sat down for his presser at Old Trafford, he held up what appeared to be a signed United contract, expressing his confusion. But things were not as they seemed .

The contract was signed by YouTuber and popular streamer IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr. The internet celebrity, known for his outrageous antics in videos, visited Old Trafford that year due to his admiration for club legend Cristiano Ronaldo .
United welcomed the 20-year-old American by offering a tour of the dressing room, giving him his own jersey and inviting him to the press room, where he signed a mock contract.
It's uncertain whether the contract was intentionally left behind to unsettle the Liverpool boss after the match, especially since his tenure at Anfield was ending that summer. Nonetheless, Klopp appeared bemused by the ordeal.
Regardless, Klopp ever managing United is unthinkable. After stepping away from his role at Anfield, he took up a position with Red Bull as their Head of Global Soccer.

Klopp dropped a hint as to whether he'll ever manage again last month. He was asked by The Athletic if he missed being a coach and replied: "Not. At. All.
"I was super happy with the way Liverpool performed [last season]. I watched some games. But it is not like, 'Oh, it's Saturday!' I didn't know when games started.
"I was just out. I played sports. We enjoyed life, spent time with the grandkids, completely normal stuff, knowing I will work again. But knowing as well, that I don't want to work as a coach anymore."
