Sheffield Wednesday have received a major update in their hopes of signing players this summer

Sheffield Wednesday are optimistic of completing transfer business ahead of this evening’s 7pm deadline after more talks with the EFL over their situation - and a medical has been booked in for Man United teenager Harry Amass.

According to journalist Alex Miller of The Sheffield Star , the club have been discussing with the powers-that-be at the EFL over potentially bringing in players, but it has come to nothing so far - until potentially now.

Financial issues throughout the summer have led to outgoings being the majority of their business, with several key players departing Hillsborough in recent months.

Cardiff City goalkeeper Ethan Horvath is the only signing at Sheffield Wednesday since last season, with emergency approval granted due to Pierce Charles' injury, with the transfer market set to close at 7pm on Monday evening.
