Jobe Bellingham: Man United’s Plan B emerges as Dortmund star makes transfer decision

Manchester United are very unlikely to get their hands on Jobe Bellingham , around five years after failing to convince his brother, Jude, to move to Old Trafford.

Bellingham followed his brother’s footsteps, leaving Championship to join Borussia Dortmund in July in a £25 million deal despite interest from a number of clubs in England.

The 20-year-old was one of Sunderland’s best players in the Championship, playing a key part in their promotion to the Premier League.

However, Bellingham has yet to find his feet in the Bundesliga , managing just two league starts so far at his new club.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are considering the possibility of signing Bellingham on loan in January amid “increasing tension” between his camp and Dortmund.

According to Express , Bellingham has “dismissed the idea of a surprise move” to United.

The Englishman is not keen on moving to the Theatre of Dreams. It is understood he would turn down a switch to Ruben Amorim’s side due to their absence from the Champions League.

If the ex-Sunderland star were to exit the German outfit, he would reportedly prefer a club capable of offering him European football.

It is understood Bellingham’s snub could prompt the Red Devils to “intensify their pursuit” of Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher .

Amorim is eager to strengthen his midfield mid-season with both Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo struggling to cement their place in his starting lineup due to different reasons.

Gallagher, meanwhile, is open to leaving Atletico, recognising the need for regular playtime ahead of the World Cup next summer.

The 25-year-old midfielder, known for his ground coverage and physicality, was on United’s radar in the summer as well. The Mancunians made a late move for the ex-Chelsea man but Atletico had no plans to entertain a loan deal at the time.
