Aston Villa are closing in on an agreement with Manchester United to sign Jadon Sancho on an initial season-long loan deal.
The clubs have made a breakthrough in talks and are proceeding towards a deal before today's deadline.
Sancho, 25, is due to become a free agent next summer but Man United have the option to extend his deal by another year.

The winger was on loan at Chelsea last season but they paid a fee to send him back to United

The England international has not played for Manchester United since August 2023.
He was loaned out to former club Borussia Dortmund in January 2024 and spent last season on a temporary deal at Chelsea.
Chelsea had an obligation to buy Sancho for £25million if they finished higher than 14th in the Premier League, which they did, but they decided to pay a £5m penalty fee instead.
Sancho was placed into Manchester United's bomb squad on his return to the club alongside Marcus Rashford, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho.
Rashford has since joined Barcelona on an initial loan deal while Garnacho sealed a £40m move to Chelsea on Saturday.
Antony is heading back to Real Betis on a permanent move while Elche is a potential landing destination for Malacia.
Sancho has scored 12 goals in 83 games since joining the club from Dortmund for £73m in July 2021.
