Manchester United travel to Anfield today for a battle with their fierce rivals Liverpool - and Ruben Amorim has a few headaches to contend with. The Red Devils head to Merseyside having endured a poor start to the season.
While they managed to get back on track against Sunderland before the international break, the Premier League champions represent United's biggest challenge so far. And given the opponents, boss Amorim will certainly want to have all his best players available.
That might be easier said than done, with United having sustained a few injury issues so far this season, while a host of players missed training ahead of the weekend’s trip to Anfield.
Captain Bruno Fernandes was one of those to be absent after international, while summer signing Matheus Cunha was also sidelined. They were joined away from training by Amad and Casemiro.
They are likely to be available for this weekend’s clash with Liverpool. With that being said, Mirror Football takes a look at the Red Devils’ potential starting XI:
Starting in goal, summer addition Senne Lammens appears to now be United’s number one and he should start once again against Liverpool. Moving into defence, Amorim will no doubt deploy his back-three of Luke Shaw , Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro.
Lisandro Martinez - who has been out with a long-term knee injury - is closing in on a return but is not quite ready to play yet. Meanwhile, Amorim hinted that Noussair Mazraoui could miss out.
Diogo Dalot and Amad should be stationed on either flank. Patrick Dorgu is another option, but despite missing training on Thursday, Amad should get the nod to start.

And while Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro both had limited training time ahead of this weekend’s game, they are both highly likely to be in the side if they are fit enough. Moving into attack, United’s frontline should have a relatively familiar look.
Benjamin Sesko will lead the line over Joshua Zirkzee and will be supported by fellow summer arrival Bryan Mbeumo. The final decision that Amorim has to make is over whether to play Matheus Cunha or Mason Mount .
Given the ex- Chelsea man netted against Sunderland last time out, Amorim might feel that he has done enough to retain his spot in the side. Cunha was among those to have missed training in the build-up to the game so may have to make do with a place among the substitutes.
Giving an update on his side’s fitness, Amorim said: “Licha is not available. Near but he is just returning. I don't know about Mazraoui. The international players are ready but we need to give them more time. The guys who are returning are ready to play.”
Man Utd predicted XI vs Liverpool: Lammens; Shaw, De Ligt, Yoro; Dalot, Fernandes, Casemiro, Amad; Mount, Mbeumo, Sesko.
