England captain Harry Kane has already pushed set a goals record - and now has his sights on more glory. Kane, 32, has scored 76 goals in 110 caps and believes he can reach 100 goals which would almost certainly mean he has to go past Peter Shilton’s record of 125 caps.

Bayern Munich star Kane says he is in the best shape form of his life and if he carries on next summer then he can score the goals to win England the World Cup. He said: “I think it’s there. The way I’m feeling right now, I’m not slowing down any time soon. I want to stay at this level for as long as I can.

“I’m on 76 now so that leaves 24 and we have a few more games between now and the World Cup and then try and edge closer to that 100.”

Kane has long since gone past Wayne Rooney ’s previous record of 53 goals for England and says his 21 goals for club and country this season prove he is still getting better.

But Kane also says that if England are to win the trophy then he will have to be in the same form next summer.

He added: “The goals are there and the numbers speak for themselves. The way I feel on the pitch, the way I am seeing the game, physically and without the ball, pressing, I feel in a really good place.

“And I feel like I am still learning and that is down to the work we are doing at Bayern Munich as well and here. Always improving and I feel like I have stepped up another level this season.

“If you want to be one of the favourites and go far into the tournament, then you need your strikers to be scoring goals.

“I have scored many goals in major tournaments so far in my career and that experience will help the team and I feel like that at this World Cup, I will have moments in games and chances where I can affect them.

“But next summer is going to be tough. The heat and the humidity are going to be really difficult and this is all a building block for that.”
