Furious Wolves fans demand answers from owners Fosun and call for Jeff Shi exit

Furious Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters are demanding answers from the club’s ownership as their season descends further into chaos.
A dismal 3-0 defeat at Fulham on Saturday, meant for the second successive season, Wolves have failed to win any of their opening 10 Premier League matches. They remain rooted to the bottom of the table, having picked up a desperate two points from a possible 30.
The loss at Craven Cottage also marked the end for head coach Vitor Pereira, who was sacked after less than 12 months in charge. Fosun are now on the lookout for their NINTH permanent manager since purchasing the club from Steve Morgan in 2016.
And on Monday, fans were left incredulous after news emerged that Gary O’Neil - who was sacked last December - was in talks to make a dramatic return. Polls on social media showed the drastically negative opinion of the move, which eventually was blocked after the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
But that has done little to stem frustration from Wolves supporters, having watched their side consistently sell their best players…becoming considerably less competitive in the process.
A joint statement from numerous supporter groups including Wolves Report, Talking Wolves and Wolves Fancast has demanded answers from Fosun owner Guo Guongchang and declared a vote of no confidence in executive chairman Jeff Shi.
Shi has borne the brunt of much of the fan backlash, having been the public face of the club since their promotion back to the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo in 2018.
The statement reads: “As long-time supporters of this fantastic football club, we are writing to express our serious concerns about the overall direction and management of Wolverhampton Wanderers, particularly amid the ongoing search for another head coach.
“Whilst we appreciate the challenges involved in recruitment and the need for stability, we urge you and the board to recognise the strong and widespread opposition to the decisions currently being made across all areas of the club.”

Wolves enjoyed a rapid rise under Chinese conglomerate Fosun, quickly ascending from the bottom half of the Championship to the top seven in the Premier League.
Under Nuno, Wolves achieved back-to-back seventh placed finishes, as well as runs to the FA Cup semi final and Europa League quarter final.
But since the popular Portuguese’s exit in 2021, Wolves have cycled through managers, gradually dropping down the table - facing regular battles against relegation. There are also major concerns regarding investment into the infrastructure, including the increasingly dilapidated Molineux.
The statement continues: “Many supporters feel that Wolves has lost its ambition, identity, and clear sense of purpose both on and off the pitch. You have already alienated a significant number of loyal supporters who have been priced out, and appear to show little care or respect for the fanbase. Without swift and meaningful change, you risk further dividing supporters at a time when unity and belief are essential.

“Under Fosun’s early stewardship, the club made great strides in its footballing operations, infrastructure, and community connection - progress that made Wolves a model of pride and ambition. Sadly, we are now witnessing decisions that continue to undermine that vital relationship and diminish the standards that once defined the club.
“As supporters, it feels like Groundhog Day once again. What has happened to us? How has the club declined so much under your stewardship, Jeff? How can the hierarchy repeatedly make the same mistakes and fail to deliver on promises? Why have so many key figures behind the scenes departed without clear explanations?
“We believe the fans deserve transparency and accountability from the club’s leadership through open, honest communication rather than scripted interviews. We call for Guo Guangchang, Chairman of Fosun to engage directly with supporters and provide clarity about the club’s long-term vision and leadership structure. Many no longer feel confident that Jeff Shi is the right person to take this football club forward.

"The Wolves fanbase cares deeply about the club’s success. Our loyalty remains for now, but we urge you to listen to and respect the voices of supporters during this crucial period.”
The mood at Molineux had already become increasingly toxic, amid the miserable run of form on the pitch and disillusionment with the direction of travel off it. Following the home defeat to Burnley last month, Pereira clashed with fans on the South Bank, before goalkeeper Jose Sa was spotted arguing with angry supporters outside the stadium.
