Chelsea enjoyed a brilliant transfer window, smashing the Premier League record for player sales in a single summer. While the Blues managed to rake in nearly £290m, they also welcomed lots of new faces to Stamford Bridge .
Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart invested £285m in Enzo Maresca's squad, bringing in a healthy balance of exciting forwards and midfield maestros . The sporting directors bolstered Chelsea's attacking options, but they only signed one defender: Jorrel Hato.
With Levi Colwill currently nursing an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the west Londoners could fall short in the coming months . Nevertheless, Chelsea walked away from the transfer window with one of the healthiest net spends (£3m) in the English top-flight.
Arsenal forked out a table-topping £246m and Liverpool splashed £228m, while Manchester United (£148m) soared past Tottenham Hotspur (£145m) in the final hours by signing Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
