Celtic confirmed on Monday that Brendan Rodgers has resigned as manager , with Martin O’Neill taking over on an interim basis.
This comes after the Bhoys lost 3-1 to Hearts , slipping eight points behind their rivals in the Scottish Premiership table.

Martin O’Neill has returned to Celtic as their interim manager, and he could get the permanent job.
O’Neill managed Celtic from 2000 to 2005, winning three Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and a League Cup.
He has since had managerial stints at Aston Villa, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest . He also managed the Republic of Oreland.
The 73-year-old will look to make a good impression when his team face Falkirk in a home game on Wednesday.
Michael Carrick has been out of a job since being sacked by Middlesbrough at the end of last season .
He took over the Championship club in October 2022 and made an immediate impact, guiding them to the play-offs. Coventry City beat them in the semi-final.
Carrick performed reasonably well during his spell at Boro, leading the team to two top ten league finishes in the last two seasons.
The former Manchester United star could be an appealing option for the Scottish giants.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is another top manager who is currently available.
Turkish club Besiktas dismissed the Norwegian following the Europa Conference League play-offs defeat by Lausanne in August.
Solskjaer’s recent record has been poor, but he has European experience and is familiar with high-pressure jobs.
The 52-year-old guided Manchester United to a second-place league finish in 2020-21 and also took them to the Europa League final that same season.
