Arne Slot has dismissed concerns over Mohamed Salah's recent form in his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool's clash vs Brentford on Saturday. The Reds are set to face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, hoping to follow up Wednesday's 5-1 thumping success at Eintracht Frankfurt and regain their winning momentum in the Premier League .

Slot's team have suffered three consecutive losses in the top-flight and need to turn things around if they hope to close the gap on table-toppers Arsenal . The Gunners currently sit four points clear at the top.

During his press conference, Slot addressed questions about Salah's dip in form, the club's injury situation including the fitness of Jeremie Frimpong and Alexander Isak , and his comments following the Manchester United game. And here Mirror Football has summarised the key takeaways from the Dutchman's media briefing;

On the subject of Salah's missed opportunities, Slot offered some insight into the Egyptian's recent performances, which have been uncharacteristically lacklustre, by his standards. Salah has netted just three goals and provided three assists in 12 appearances for the Reds this season - failing to score since the 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in mid-September.

"I don't know if it's sharpness," Slot commented. "In general, players miss chances. He's a human being. We're not used to him missing chances let alone a few games in a row, but these things happen.

"The main thing is Mo has always scored his goals for our club. The last thing I worry about is Mo start to score goals again, because that's what he does his whole life and that's what I expect him to do again.

"Maybe his whole Liverpool player he played with Trent [Alexander-Arnold], so it could (be that). But he's been in promising positions often enough to score goals, maybe with Trent even more. But in general, if you have quite a few changes in the summer you have to find new connections. Mo is no exception to this."

Slot has confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong will miss their match with Brentford. He also faces an extended spell on the side-lines following a hamstring setback.

"Jeremie isn't in a good place," the Reds boss revealed regarding Frimpong. "He's definitely not going to play today, tomorrow or next week. Hamstring injury is going to take a while."

When discussing Alexander Isak's fitness, Slot admitted there remains a "question mark" over the Swedish striker's availability for this weekend's fixture. The same uncertainty surrounds Ryan Gravenberch .

"Alex is not too bad," Slot explained. "Question mark for the weekend and let's see where he is. That's the same to be said about Ryan. He didn't travel with us, yesterday we were in and today as well."

Providing an update on Alisson, who hasn't appeared since the defeat against Galatasaray last month, Slot added: "Alisson is not in the squad. That's also going to take a little bit longer."

Slot has responded to the backlash over his remarks following Liverpool's defeat to arch rivals Man Utd on Sunday. "If you'd told me that we would play against a low block and a team that plays so many long balls, and that we would be able to create so many chances, I would think that we wouldn't lose the game - but we did, because we missed a lot," Slot said in an interview post-match.

While Jamie Carragher backed his comments earlier this week, rival supporters saw things differently - with some mocking Slot online. However, during Friday's press conference, Slot clarified he was actually praising United boss Amorim.

"It was meant to be a compliment to the opposing manager finding a way to play against us," said Slot. "But I don't think it has come across like that."
