Tyrell Malacia's recent actions have spoken volumes after being welcomed back into Manchester United 's first-team fold following in from being part of the 'bomb squad' this summer.

The Dutch defender was among five players, including Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford , Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony, who were told they could leave United this summer. The latter four all found new homes, but Malacia wasn't so lucky.

Despite a lack of interest in him and a failed deadline day move to Elche, the 26-year-old was surprisingly included in United's registered squad for the current Premier League season.

Ruben Amorim shed some light on this decision earlier in the season: "He is returning with contact with the ball with the Under-21s, then we will see."

After training with the academy, Malacia has now been brought back into the first-team group, potentially setting the stage for his return to a Premier League matchday squad.

Club insiders have emphasised that it was always the plan to bring Malacia back into the first-team fold.

The Dutch full-back has been keeping his followers updated on Instagram by posting videos of himself working out, putting in extra hours in the gym and on the training pitch during the international break.

Even though he hasn't been getting regular playing time, he's kept up his fitness levels and is hoping to make a comeback in the United squad.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, United are planning to bid farewell to the defender when his contract expires this summer.
