Cristiano Ronaldo says Manchester United “not on the right path” despite recent improved results

Cristiano Ronaldo (40) has voiced his concern for former club Manchester United , insisting that manager Ruben Amorim “ cannot work miracles ” amid ongoing struggles at Old Trafford.

Speaking to Piers Morgan Uncensored and transcribed by Sky Sports , the 40-year-old Al Nassr forward reflected on United’s situation a year into Amorim’s tenure, urging the club to rebuild its foundations with “ intelligent people ” guiding its future.

Amorim, who marked his first anniversary in charge with a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest, has steadied the team after last season’s turbulence, a campaign that saw United finish 14th in the Premier League and lose the Europa League final. Despite three consecutive wins before the Forest draw, Ronaldo believes deeper structural issues persist.

“ He’s doing his best, ” Ronaldo said. “ But what are you going to do? Miracles? Miracles are impossible, they only happen in Fátima. Manchester United have good players, but some of them don’t have the mentality of what it means to play for Manchester United .”

The Portuguese icon, who scored 145 goals across two spells for the club, spoke with both affection and frustration. “ I’m sad, because the club is one of the most important in the world, and still in my heart, ” he said. “ But they need structure and vision. The potential is incredible, but the path is wrong .”
