Cole Palmer issues injury update as he shares behind-the-scenes snaps from life on the treatment table

Cole Palmer has revealed that he will be 'soon back' playing for Chelsea as he shared a behind-the-scenes look at his life as he recovers from injury.

The midfielder has not featured for the world champions since he suffered an injury in the warm-up ahead of Chelsea's 5-1 thumping win over West Ham two weeks ago.

Palmer, 23, was due to start the match at the London stadium but 'felt something'and had to be taken out of the team as a precaution. He was also absent in the Blues' 2-0 win over rivals Fulham .

His groin problem is enough to see him absent from England duty during the international break, as Thomas Tuchel 's side prepare to face Andorra and Serbia in a pair of World Cup qualifiers. However, a cryptic Instagram post from Palmer appears to suggest he will be back from injury shortly.

Chelsea quite remarkably start their season with four London derbies on the spin, with the last of that run an away trip to Brentford next Saturday.

Enzo Maresca is yet to share an update on Palmer's condition ahead of the match, but the midfielder's two-word message, 'soon back', indicates that he may be available for the contest.

Palmer has now shared snaps of what his life has been like away from football on Instagram

He shared the message alongside a series of snaps from on the pitch and off the pitch, sharing a look at his life to his 8.3m Instagram followers.

One of the pictures included a selfie at Notting Hill Carnival , which took place the same weekend he pulled up with his groin problem in east London.

Palmer, whose grandfather was born in the Caribbean island of St Kitts , went incognito at the Carnival on the third day of the bank holiday event as he donned an elaborate disguise.

Notting Hill Carnival, Europe's largest street party, celebrates Caribbean culture, and as such, Palmer wanted to get involved. At the time, he posted a video of the festival as well as a photo of his outfit on Instagram, and he has now shared a new snap from the day.

He wore a full face mask, a rastacap, and black dreadlocks in a bid to embrace his heritage - but perhaps also not to draw too much attention.

Palmer is known as one of the most laid-back personalities in football. He is unapologetically himself whenever interviewed by the media, and his authenticity off the pitch, as well as his talent on it, has won him a lot of fans.

On the last slide of his latest social media post, he shared a saying: 'A real flex is just being yourself in a world where people live for an image.'

It's a subtle message that supports his personality - he will not change for anybody.

In August, it emerged that Palmer is in a bizarre battle with a French vineyard over his attempts to trademark his 'Cold Palmer' nickname.

Palmer has emerged as one of the biggest stars in the game in recent years and is known for his 'ice cold' celebration. The move sees Palmer motion that he is cold by rubbing his arms and puffing out his cheeks when he scores.

Last year, Palmer made a move to trademark both the celebration, which is also used by his friend and international team-mate Morgan Rogers, and the name 'Cold Palmer', in the hope of using it to sell a number of different products. These include clothes, alcohol, food, toys, toiletries, razor blades and diet drinks.

However, Palmer's attempts to do this have been challenged by a revered vineyard in the south west of France.

Chateau Palmer, located in the Margaux region of Bordeaux, believes that registering a trademark for the name would pose a threat to its own image. It is a highly respected vineyard and that is known to sell their wine for as much as £750-per-bottle.
